A quick "google" brought up a notice for dissolution of partnership in the London Gazette in 1896, between Charles Champion Bradshaw & William Royle Higginson  - the business then being CC Bradshaw & Co. Using his full name led to this:

Date code says 1894.

Looks like ca 1888 to me (see http://www.rogerco.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dated/mip.htm)
