Can anyone help me with my research?
My Grandfather, Ernest married my Grandmother, Gertrude Annie Latham in 1896 in Stoke. They lived at no 3 Birks Street and in the period 1897-1911 had 6 children.
The 1911 Census has the surviving children listed but also states that 3 children died.
Fist question...which church could they have been married in? This is so I can contact and ask them if the children that died were baptised.
Thanks in advance for your help

I find this quite interesting as my Grandmother Elsie Smith born 1899 lived at Campbell Rd which Birks St backs onto. When we were young she told us of an incident that occured when she was a child.
One time after Sunday school, rather than go straight home, she was tempted to go and play along by the Trent by Charley Roberts, his brother and Emily Johnson (whom she walked home with). Some children had built a makeshift bridge over the Trent to get to the marshes beyond and Elsie fell in and ruined her Sunday best clothes. She delayed going home for ages as she knew she would get a good hiding off her father. Eventually another child turned up and said that her parents were looking for her so she had to go home and face the music.
Alas I don't have an exact date for this story and my Grandmother is no longer around to ask. But I thought that you might find it interesting.
