Hi. Looking for any information anyone may have on a Mary Gibson DOB 21st November 1919 and believed to have passed away in 1949 with TB. I believe her parents were Anderson Gibson and Margaret Gibson (formerly Chisholm) who lived in Berwick. Mary was a Nurse in Glasgow (certainly in 1942). I also believe she had a Brother called David and a sister called Margaret. Finding it hard to find any Census' showing information on Mary Gibson.
I feel she may be part of my family tree and am eager to find any information about Mary......appreciate she was 29 when she unfortunately passed away, but any information anyone has or can guide me to would be very much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance. :)

Hi Rainey J
That last UK census available for inspection is the 1911 census. With Mary Gibson's birth year of 1919, you will not find a census accessible with her on it. With the death cert you quote of 1949, you should be able to confirm her death details on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and also view her death cert online for this year of 1949 (cut off currently 1961 for deaths).

Hi Monica.
Thank you so much for your response.
Thank you for confirming about the Census, I did seem to find information regarding her parents and Brother and Sister.
I have looked on Scotlands People, which is a really helpful website. I managed to locate Mary's Death certificate where I was able to find out about her parents names and her brother.
I know she was a Nurse in Glasgow and lived in Park Circus Place and want to find out a bit more about that and have had so much help for so many kind people in relation to contacting certain organisations.
Once you start you cannot stop!!! ;D
Thank you again.

Nursing is not something I have experience of researching but you might want to consider checking out what employment records may remain or be accessable to you from the relevant nursing archive. See:

Just checking...have you seen this post here on RC www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,434600.0.html
Nearly two years since I last posted the questions about the Gibsons in Berwick-shire, now have more brick walls concerning 5 siblings!
ANDERSON born Blackpotts in 23 Jun 1877, married Margaret Chisholm in 1904 at Hilton and two children, Margaret 1905 and David 1911 also two who had died before the census in 1911.......

Thank you soooo much for your reply, you have certainly given me another root to look into about the nursing. Really appreciate all your help.
Yes I did see the post about the Gibsons and I will look to contact them to see if they have any information too.
Thanking you again. Really keen to find as much information about Mary and her family (and if any are still alive) as I can.
Take care. Rainey J x
