Hi,
I am trying to discover the details of a County Down McGiffert family.
The family head is John McGiffert (1763-1807) married to Mary (1773-1870) nee Dunwoody ( can someone confirm Marys maiden name, Dunwoody or Dinwiddle ?)
I have children of John and Mary, so far, as John (1793?-1873?), James, Ann Orr (1804-1893)
Can anyone also confirm these children, plus advise of any others?
Many thanks
Tom

Have you checked the Ros Davies website? There's a few McGifferts / McGiffords mostly round the Downpatrick / Killyleagh area:

Also, there is a grave in Killyleagh Presbyterian erected by a Robert McGiffert for father John who died 17 October 1807 aged 44, other family members are mentioned...

There are also PRONI will index entries for McGifferts / McGiffords which may offer up clues for the children.
BTW, I've sent you a personal message regarding the Killyleagh Presbyterian grave.

Robert McGiffert (son of John) who was from Rathcunningham, married an Elizabeth who died in 1904 aged 97, this is almost certainly Elizabeth living with son John in 1901, hopefully this will tie in with what you already know:
