Title: Lost this family in the Censuses
Post by: sunflower on Friday 12 October 12 13:22 BST (UK)
Hi all

I'm going cross eyed looking for this one.

John Keyworth was bapt in 1836 in Nottingham to Richard & Ann (nee Moore)
Richard was a Tailor.  John married in 1873 and the certifcates states he was a Fishmonger.

I am having trouble finding Richard and family in any of the earlier census.  I am sure the name must be mis-spelt, so I need help - Please

Thank you Cathy that seem to confirm it's probably the correct family as John's mother's maiden name was MOORE

I wonder if this is father Richard's death entry

Thanks everyone so much.

On John's marriage certificate dated 1873 he was a widower, so yes Harriett was his first wife.

The death in 1839 was not my Richard as that one died in Laxton abode Lexington.

The census information has given me something to work on.  I'll keep looking for Richard.

Thanks again
Carol

Hi Ladyhawk

I am not sure when he died.  He seems to have disappeared with trace.

I think I may have found him now in 1841 aged 28 working as a M.S. with the Morley family at Old Basford.

Thanks everyone for your help

Hi Carol,

As I don't have access to full census can't tell you what the marital status of A Keyworth on 1861c is - Do you have John's mother Ann Keyworth on the 1851 census?

What year did Richard die?

I can't seem to find a Richard Keyworth occ Tailor  ??? there's a Richard age 28 Basford he's a male servant  ???

I don't think this is your Richard Keyworth only posted as he's born in Nottingham it looks as if he died in 1874 Barnsley

1851c Yorkshire Leeds North
Richard Keyworth 31 (1820) Nottingham Cheese Monger
Margaret Keyworth 40

1861c Oldham Lancashire
Richard Keyworth 46 (1815) Nottingham Professsor of Herbs
Margaret Keyworth 50

1871c Barnsley Yorkshire
Richard Keyworth 55 (1816) Nottingham occ Water Caster
Margaret Keyworth 61

Hi all

Thanks very much.  I appreciate the census information

I had seen the tree on Ancestry, but I have found different information, so not sure that it's right at the moment.  More investigation to be done!
