Hi all I was wondering if anyone has a plan of London Road Cemetery? my G/father was buried there in the 1940s in a communal grave, I do know the grave number but don't currently have it available to put in this post but if someone has a plan then I will look back through my records and dig it out. I did go to the Coventry history centre last winter who supplied me with a photocopy of the relevent area, but when I arrived at the cemetery it made little or no sense whats so ever, I spent a good 3 hours trying to find the grave location. I live quite a distance from the cemetery and Sundays is the only day that I can go and obviously no one is there to assist neither is the history centre open for me to look at the bigger plan in an attempt to get better bearings. any help would be very much appreciated as I would relay like to visit this grave. Thanks.. Dave

If you ring the register office and quote the plot no. then I'm sure they'd help you - 024 7683 3141

Thanks for that info. I now have the missing details of the grave, the burial took place on 6/10/1947 of John Henry Simkiss in grave location, square 341 grave 2. Thanks

Hi,
I m sure whoever deals with cemetaries in Coventry would be able to send you a modern plan, with more detailed advice.
For what its worth i have an old rough copy of a plan of part of London Road cemetery with lots of plot numbers marked including 341 along with paths and entrance.
My grandparents and others were buried there in the 30 s, there were no headstones so even using the map I could only get an approximate position.
