Title: "Date photo" and "is it same child?" please

Please could I have help dating the first photo below. The whole thing is about 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches on very thin paper with no marks whatsoever on the back.

I had assumed that the child in the second picture was the same person, but we know that the second picture was taken in 1929 and my Dad believes that the first picture is much older than that. Can I have your opinions please?

Hi B.B....I wonder if the first photo is the lady as a child...not sure..but this will bring your post back up the board :D

The child sitting on the step looks like the one in the first photo.
But if your dad thinks the first photo is much older then it can't be.
But it could be the child of the first one?

The lady holding the baby looks to be in her forties, I'd say.

Thanks Dawn. I am hoping that someone can date the first photo, because I know that the second photo was taken abt 1928, so if someone can tell me for sure whether the photo of the child is much earlier than 1928 or whether it is possible that it is a 1928 photo, that would help me a lot.

I hope that this makes sense.
