Title: PATERSON/ PEACOCK
Post by: snowwhite77 on Saturday 28 May 05 13:54 BST (UK)
Have found the following couple.
George PATERSON & Nelly (Helen) PEACOCK
Married 1783.
I have checked the LDS and they have 2 entries for this couple. Both entires are extracted from records and not submitted after 1991.

The funny thing is the marriages take place a few days apart in the month of May. One is in Alloa , Clackmannan and the other is Carnock, Fife,

I am wondering if they did get marrieed twice for some very weird reason?

Both areas are familiar to these families as i know the Patersons did settle in Carnock in 1820's, there children were born there,
Also the couple on question were both born in Clackmannan.
Has anybody come accross this before?

Appreciate any help
Amanda

The two dates refer to the Banns being called in the respective parishes of residence of the Bride & Groom - simple as that
