hello could some please look for a John and Elizabeth (MAry) STEPHENSON in Southcoates, Yorkshire, England on the 1881 census. I am wanting to see if this couple had children at the time and their names.
thank you in advance
-
it would help if we had some years of birth? ::)
-
sorry
for Elizabeth I have abt 1850
for John i don't really have anything.
this is from the information that i have of a daughter they had in 1879.
-
What is the name of the daughter?
Far too many John Stephenson's to search.
Specially when you aren't sure whether the wife is Elizabeth or Mary?
-
daughters name is Sarah
Mary Elizabeth is registered on birth certificate for daughter but referred to by family member as elizabeth. and on australia death index as mary
-
Were there any other children?

Thank you
we arnt sure of the other children's names. we know of a few born in new zealand before they moved to australia.
the sarah you have listed is aged 3
on the nz register our sarah was born in 1881 so this may be the family. thank you for giving us a bit more to work by. i will pass this information on and see what we can come up with from there.
we dont know if they went back to the uk or how often they did.
-
I did say it was the best I could find! ;D
But that was based on Sarah being born c1879 - as you said in reply #2?
Now you are saying she was born in 1881?
When did the family emigrate?
Are we likely to see them in the England 1891 census?
-
sorry meant 1879 making her 2-3 in 1881
