Title: 1841 Census
Post by: mvy_1 on Friday 28 September 12 13:53 BST (UK)
I have an 1841 Census for the Parish St George's in the Fields and am having trouble transcribing the Street. Page 8 of the Census for William McArthur. Does the street read as Burnside Street and if it does where would I find it in Glasgow.
Margaret.

Hi there

It's Burnside Street on the image.
If you look the family up in FreeCEN (who transcribe it as Burnside) at:
http://www.freecen.org.uk/

There are buttons to flick back or forward to the previous or next households.
Go back some, and eventually the Burnside address' stop and up comes Garscube Road.

Thank you Ambly. I just wanted to be sure that someone was seeing what I was seeing.  :D
