Hi to all,
I'm looking to speak/contact anyone who has an insight on Corsican genealogy.
I'm especially interested to know whether there were still Italian speaking communities in Corsica around the late 1800's.
My great grandmother allegedly came from Corsica, possibly a 'Lombardi/o' family name and spoke Italian.
She would have been born around the 1870's ish.
Could this be possible?
Thanks people!

I've found this which might help: http://corsicacorsica.homestead.com/
I'd also suggest joining www.genealogie.com which is a French site - you'd do far better there if you can work in French. This link might get you to the Corsican page... http://www.genealogie.com/v4/forums/recherches-genealogiques-corse-f241.html
