Hello,
I am doing this research on behalf of a friend, we are looking into the origins of his grandparents and great grandparents.
His grandparents were:
Albert Cole and Dororthy Annie Rose.
Albert was born in 1924 Birmingham South: died in 2006
Dorothy was born in 1923 Warwickshire - registered in Meriden: died in 1997
They were married in 1945 in the Meriden district
Any help would be greatly appreciated into confirming their parents names. I believe Alberts parents were from Warwickshire - however we have been unable to find Dorothy's.
We also know that Albert was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers during WW2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks, Jemilla

I think is almost essential to buy either the marriage certificate, or the birth certificates.
You seem to have found them on GRO Indexes?

If you look on the FreeBMD site for Albert and Dorothy's birth - their morthers names are Warrender (for Albert) and Bailey (for Dorothy). Using the surnames only and a time span of say 10 years either side of Albert's and Dorothy's birth dates, and Warwickshire as the place, then all of their siblings will be reveiled.
Using this process for a marriage -
Norman E Cole married Sarah A A Warrender March qtr 1819 Aston and
Swain Rose married Harriet Bailey June qtr 1922 Tamworth.
I though that 'Swain Rose' would be easy to find. I can only find 2. One b.1883 Stratford m. 1909 to a Violet and she was his widow on his death in 1956 Birmingham. The other Swain Rose died aged 82 in Nuneaton 1926. So the Tamworth marriage cert. is essential, as KGarrad has already said.
