If you purchase the marriage certificate, you will get most of the information you are looking for:

Marriages Sep 1843

BALL  William    Birmingham  Volume16 page313
JONES  John Downes     Birmingham  16 313
JONES  John Downs     Birmingham  16 313
PERKINS  Maria     Birmingham  16 313
WILKINSON  Elizabeth     Birmingham  16 313
WILKINSON  John     Birmingham  16 313
WINDER  Catharine     Birmingham  16 313
WRIGHT  Martin     Birmingham  16 313
WRIGHT  Mary Ann     Birmingham  16 313

Using the above reference details it is quick and easy to purchase the certificate online using a credit card. Cost is only £9.25: http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

As you don't know their ages, and it is likely that there are several candidates on the censuses, you really need at least the father's names to make sure you are tracing the correct Maria and WIlliam.

As an example, assuming William was about 23 when he married therfore born 1820, I looked for a William Ball in the 1841 census born around 1820 +/- 5 years living in Warwickshire. I got 9 results.

Of course any of these perameters may be incorrect, which would give even more possible William Balls.

So, buying the certificate is the best way to progress with this search to ensure you are following the correct families.  :)

I have located William and Maria on the 1851 census. Do you have this?
This tells us that William is 32 so born about 1819 in Birmingham.

I have also found the family on the 1861 census. Interesting that William has his mother with the family. Places of birth are different from the 1851 for both William and Maria.

Let me know if you would like the details of the censuses.

I will pass these censues onto you anyway:

1851
Class HO107/ Piece 2061/ Folio 78/ Page 8
16 Court, Aston Road
William Ball head mar 32 pearl button maker
Maria wife 28
Charles son 5
Catherine daur 2
Margaret daur 3mo
Edward Glover brother unmar 36 ornament maker
John son 12                                  do
Rosa daur 10                                  do
(all born Birmingham)

I do not understand how Edward Glover is a brother to William, unless he is a half brother or a brother in law?  :-\

1861
210 Aston Road Birmingham
RG9/2177/102/17
William Ball head mar 38 pearl button maker Staffs Pugeby(may be Rugeley?)
Mariah wife mar 36 Middlesex London
Charles son 15 gun maker b Birmingham
Margaret 9 do
William 7 do
Margaret Ball mother unmar 66 attends to Dron....(?) shop b Shaksl(t)on County NK

So a few inconsistencies between the censuses which will need chasing up. And a few place names that need investigating.

I can't easily see the family in 1871, but I think I found Margaret as a lodger in another household.

Looks like a possible for Margaret in 1851;
Born Shaxton, Derbyshire

1851 Census
Court 17 Aston Road,
Aston, Warwickshire
HO107/2061/79/10
William BALL, 55, Mar, Errand Man, born Warwickshire, Sutton
Margarett, 58, Wife, Mar, born Derbyshire, Shaxton
Richard, 19, Son, Pearl Button Maker, born Warwickshire, Birmingham
Catherine, 22, Daug, Unm, Pearl Button Maker, born Warwickshire, Grindon
+ 3 Lodgers

Trouble is that William Snr is not a Tailor. Could he have upped his Fathers occp as Marias Father was a Farmer?
