Title: Dating Request: Co. Derry
Post by: NancyRose on Tuesday 25 September 12 17:26 BST (UK)
The attached photograph bears a striking resemblance to my grandfather. I'm wondering if it's my great-grandfather's brother, James Rosborough (1871-1943).

The photo has a shinier finish and is thicker (before being glued to the card) - like later photos. There is nothing on the back.

My thanks for help dating this!

Nancy Rosborough Barnett

Datewise you're looking at around 1908-12.

Wow! That's such a precise date range - very helpful! Thanks, Jim!

Anyone have a guess as to the age of the gentleman? My grandfather's brother (one of my prime candidates) would have been about 40 at that time.

(I don't know just when my grandfather lost his hair, but he had very little hair by the time of my parents' marriage @ age 54.)

Best,
Nancy
