Title: Where to Find Service Records
Post by: Herodotus on Sunday 23 September 12 17:02 BST (UK)
I'm trying to find service records for a number of relatives.
Can anyone help me identify who I should contact for each of the following?

79th Regiment of Foot (Highlanders) 1823 - 1844

Cameron Highlanders (Canadian Division) 1914 - 1918

Lovat Scouts No.4 Troop C Squadron 1939 - 1945

Thank you for your help!

Pre 1915 records are on Find My Past.

Canadian records attestation. Forms are viewable free online,if they are British WW1 records only about 30% survive...they are on Ancestry.

UK WW2 records are still held by MOD archives and will cost £30 to access.

Alexander Campbell (b. 1803, Ross and Cromarty. d. 02-12-1860) Served 79th Regiment of Foot (Highlanders) 1823 - 1844. Subsequently Chelsea Pensioner (out patient)

Malcolm Graham (b. 24-10-1895 Garrabost, Isle of Lewis d. 28-08-1983 Stornoway, Isle of Lewis) Served Cameron Highlanders (Canadian Division) 1915 - 1918. I have his attestation paper but hoping for info on where to find details of his service.

David Andrew Macleod (b. 1918 Ross and Cromarty d. 1995 Inverness) Served Lovat Scouts No.4 Troop C Squadron 1939(?) - 1945

Malcolm Graham will have a service record held in Canadian. Archives.
You should be able to request a copy but unsure on costings.
Also try googling " CEF study group" that is another excellent site
