Can anyone please assist me in getting more info on 2 ancestors
Census shows from Poplar that Joshua Bridger born circa 1834 is shown as a Waterman (Barge),
And, His brother Edward Bridger born circa 1868 was an apprentice Lighterman.
I can find no other trace of them and am hoping that that the Guild records can show their actual dob. Their father was also a Joshua Bridger born circa 1834 may also have been a Waterman.
Thank you

Hi
It might be just me but is it not strange to have a 34 year gap between children?? :-\ and to have a son born the same year as yourself? ;)
Might Joshua have been born 1864?
Cheers

Hi KarenLee Yes I have my Joshuas mixed up yet again!
The Joshua I was should have given was born circa
1862 and Edward was his brother. A big thank you for the details you have given, I have got things totally mixed up (Joshua should read Edward, I had an Elizabeth for him with no surname. Thats why I was hoping for a Watermans Guild look up as I know their records usually give apprentices fathers details. But you info really does help a lot, thanks so much.

Hi
I cannot see any Waterman's Records for either Joshua or Edward when the were Apprenticed, but there are records for an Edward BRIDGER who was Apprenticed to a Joshua BRIDGER in the late 1880's early 1900's.
