There is this death record on the NSW BDM site
reg no V18421177 26B/1842
name JOBBINS WILLIAM AGE 65
which gives his birth year at 1877 so a bit old for yours.
Prue do you have parents details please?

Hi Jemm,
I haven't any information about William Jobbins true identity. The only link I have is that Agnes Jobbins who was born in 1828 was the daughter of a William Jobbins and his wife Mary. I am still searching for any confirmation about William Jobbins.
Thanks for helping,
