Evening,
Ancestry have just launched a collection of newspaper images from 30 newspapers from 1763-1890.
They can be browsed here:

At current there is no OCR index, though I'd image there will be soon enough.

I have 4 old newspapers found in my father's house some years ago and lying in a cupboard in my house since. I was wondering what is the best thing to do with them. They are not in great condition but are readable.
One is ' The Belfast Newsletter" dated 12th June 1750. Number 1333. It has Henry and Robert Joy at the top.
One is 'Belfast Commercial Chronicle" dated 23rd December 1807.
The other 2 are 'The Northern Whig' one dated 18th February 1840 and the other dated 26th August 1868.

One option is to sell them on eBay. Another would be to give them to a library.
You could also digitalise them and post them online.

Transcribe the vitals from those papers and post them on rootschat. Great help to others.
