Title: Grave search - Larkhall area **COMPLETED**
Post by: Danlou96 on Thursday 20 September 12 13:11 BST (UK)
Looking for the grave of Maggie Campbell, died June 1921 aged just 12. Maggie lived in Shawrigg cottage, Shawsburn,Larkhall but died in the Motherwell hospital.

Her mother Sarah Campbell died in 1927 so it could be possible that they are buried together.

Can anyone help me trace her grave. Thanks.

Danlou, if you look at the top of the Lanarkshire topic board you'll see 'Links to Lanarkshire resources'.
In the 3rd and 4th posts down Monica has listed a huge number of sites where you could search for burial records.
Have you viewed Maggie's death certificate?   Sometimes it gives a note of where the burial took place but it may be that 1921 is too late for that - the ones I'm thinking of tend to be a bit earlier.

You should try South Lanarkshire Council Cemeteries Office first of all, she is probably buried in Larkhall cemetery.
She must have died of some sort of fever or infectious disease if she was in Motherwell hospital (The County Hospital). It was a stones-throw from Airbles cemetery, so if she can't be found in any of the South Lanarkshire burial grounds your next bet would be Airbles, which is administered by North Lanarkshire Council.
