I have Hugh Adams born 1816 in Portsea who married Amelia Chapman on 29 May 1836 at St Marys (source is a public family tree - so not 'proved'). I understand that she was also born in Portsea in 1819.
I am trying to confirm both births and the marriage, and if possible the parents of both. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Since the marriage took place in 1836, it is not possible to confirm 100% the parents. At that date, no names of fathers were included on marriage records. This was only introduced with civil registration on 1 July 1837.
I've not been able to find Hugh's baptism in the anglican parish records of Portsea at all. :( I did find a record of baptism for the son of Hugh and Amelia: Hugh John Orlando Adams on 12 April 1840 at St Mary's Portsea. Amelia was baptised at St Thomas 3 months later. How odd ???
