Title: A W Scott vicar of Arvagh
Post by: Peewee on Tuesday 18 September 12 20:10 BST (UK)
I am helping the nephew of A W Scott in searching for the family history. From the evidence that I have read, A W Scott was the vicar at  Arvagh until his death in 1977. His brother Joseph Henry Howard Scott  born 1914, moved to England. Their father was a Joseph Henry Howard Scott born 1874 was ordained into the Church of Ireland in 1901 at Ballynahinch and became the vicar of Ballynure and Ballyeaston until his death in 1930.

Any information about the Rev. A W Scott would be really appreciated

Yes I saw the thread and the help you gave Di.  I thought of sending her a PM but she doesn't appear to have been on this site since then. Too often when researching you are left with a list of names and dates but you have no idea what the ancestor was like and so, I was hoping to find information about the Reverend Scott.

Thanks for replying.

Hello, I believe AW Scott would be my Uncle Woodside who was the brother of my father Thomas Laurence Scott who passed away in 1976. We as a family left Ireland in 1971 but we have fond memories of visiting our Granny Elizabeth (Woodside's Mother and Aunt Nanny) when they lived in Cloughey.

I am researching information on whether our Grandfather Joseph was connected to the Orange Lodge at Ardkeen.

Hi Tim61

I'm afraid I have lost touch with the person I was helping with their family history research and, therefore cannot help you on this occasion. Good luck with your research

New members usually need 2/3 posts before using PM system so TIM61 may not get your message or be able to reply.

Hi Di,

As aghadowey has said, Tim61 just needs to make one more post 2 in order to reply to your private message. New members do not have access to all functions until they have made 2 posts.

Regards

Sarah :)
