I am searching for Thomas Nuttall born 1913 in Ramsbottom near Bury Lancashire.
Thomas's Parents were Herbert Nuttall & Catherine nee Conway who married in 1909 at St Joseph's Church Ramsbottom.
At the time of Herberts death in 1917 France WW1 the family lived in Springwood Street Ramsbottom and a News Paper report on the death mentioned his wife & a child who I later have found to be called Thomas.
Any help at all will be appreciated .. thank you.

I can`t find a Herbert Nuttall fatality with wife named Catherine ....do you have them in the 1911 census ?
-
Hi gartsonite,
Yes I do have them on the 1911 Census just Herbert & his wife Catherine, I also have the marriage. Thanks for the link to Tyne Cot Memorial. This my Great Uncle Herbert Nuttall who was married to Catherine Conway. The information comes from two News Paper reports of Herberts death giving his wifes name as Catherine and son Thomas Nuttall.
It is the son of Herbert Nuttall I am now searching for I know that he was born in the Jan/Feb/ Mar quarter of 1913 and his Mother's maiden name was Conway.

Thankls for your reply feeline,
Catherine lived in Summerseat before her marriage, this is quite close to Ramsbottom. I would guess that she was a member of the same Church as Herbert and yes there is a good possiblity that she remarried.. the search goes on

There is a marriage of a Catherine Nuttall to a James Penney in 1919 and a birth of a James A G Penney in 1919 and then a Lawrence Penny in 1921 with mothers maiden name Conway in bury. that's a starting place at least.

Hi Brian,
Sorry I have only just seen your post and yes I think we have a connection. I think that Thomas would have been my Grandfathers Nephew, I am pleased to find out what happened to Herbert's Son. If you look back on this topic you will see that "tabs" is also a distant family member and lives not far away. I will send you a PM I have a lot of information on the Nuttall family if you want it.

Les,
Thanks for the reply I have left a message for your Father above and will PM you both.

Hi Les,
I did try to send a PM but it wouldn't go, I think this is because you only have one post. Anyway here is some information for you.
I am certain that your Great Grandfather Thomas and my Mother would have been Cousins she died in 1999 aged 91. I had already found Herbert's Marriage to Catherine Conway and their son Thomas's birth in 1913. After Herberts death in WW1 I couldn't find the family again so presumed that she had remarried.
This is the Marriage of Herbert & Catherine you may find it interesting.
