Hiya...can`t say for definite but Wiki opens with the words "Cholmondeley is a village that lies to the North East of Malpas "....so it is very encouraging ...looks favourable to me that the Malpas christening is a possible ....

GenUKI states:

Cholmondeley St Nicholas is/was a private chapel.

Malpas St Oswald was the ancient parish church for Cholmondeley.
An ancient parish church, originally serving the townships of . . . Bickley . . . Cholmondeley . . .

I found this marriage in Malpas
17th April 1799 in Malpas
Thomas Walley to Mary Wooley....
doesn`t match with your Margaret - but - could one of those records be a mistranscription ??
can anyone advise as to whether Margaret / Mary are used as one ....like Elizabeth and Lizzie

..and I couldn`t find any siblings for Sarah ...unless the family moved to Lancashire..

Hi
There is a family tree with a Sarah born 1801 Cholmondeley her parents down as James Walley and Ann Harrop.
James born Nantwich 1778 death Elton 1852.
Ann born Middlewich 1773 death Congleton 1858.
It does have Sarah marrying the gentleman you mention so might be worth checking out  :)

There doesn't appear to be a Thomas Walley married to a Margaret although Sarah's baptism does give her mother as Margaret.
On the marriage certificate to David Humphreys there is an Anne Wooley as a witness which does suggest that there may be  a connection to the marriage of  Thomas Walley and Mary Wooley.

Hi Norma thanks for that I was wondering quite a bit today and went throught the census;s again there is a Sarah Humphreys in the 1851 census staying with an Uncle Joseph Walley in Bickerton he was born abt 1815 in Cholmondeley so I have been looking at his kids and finding baptism;s some burials in archers software thsre doesnt seem to be a marriage for Joseph unless the one in 1842 in Great Broughton is the one to a Mary Hudson for I will keep looking thank again many regards Jennifer

There is a marriage for a Joseph Walley to a Mary Woolley 28th Sept 1847.  Father's names are Thomas Walley and Samuel Woolley.  Married at Broxton and the witness was a Samuel Woolley, could be father or brother?  Their ages are both given as 28.

I have a Findmypast subscription and they have the actual records on there so you can see all the information that was on an certificate.  Some are vey hard to read and some are in Latin even worse,  but it is so much easier reading on computer screen at home then it was reading in the records office on their machines.

These appear to be children with parents Sarah and David Humphreys ;
Ann 1/12/1824
Elizabeth 31/3/1822
Thomas 18/11/1827
Henry 19/5/1839
Mary 6/2/1831
Peter 27/11/1842
Sarah  11/12/1836
David states he is a carpenter on all but Peter's baptisms where he says he is a joiner.

On the 1851 census David and Sarah have a Sarah listed 1836 same date as the Sarah with Joseph, could be they put her down as a member of family instead of leaving her off as she was with her uncle?

There appears to be a marriage for Mary to a John Latham 25/10/1852, her father's name is David, his Joseph.
