Title: Washington PRs - Durham Record Office
Post by: judith54 on Sunday 16 September 12 15:02 BST (UK)
Hi

My GtGrandfather James Whinfield Burrell was, per his birth certificate, born at Old Hall Washington 8/8/1874 - unfortunately the BT records on familysearch end approx 1830. My GtGtGrandfather Isaac Burrell was a coachman, domestic servant per JWB birth certificate.
The family lived in Stockton in 1871 and by 1875 had moved to Brancepath Colliery as Isaac had joined the Police.
My request covers the period 1871-1875 inclusive for both baptisms and burials for any member of the Burrell family but, in particular, James Whinfield Burrell baptism

Thank you
Judith

Thank you Sassy

What records were you able to look at to get this info as I had to buy copies of their wills to get this!

Your time is very much appreciated. One day I hope to get to Durham Record Office.

Happy Hunting
Sunny day here in Gloucestershire (but don't know how long will last!)

I did not realize how many Burrell names there were in County Durham. Durham Records Online has 104 pages of them! That does not count the census entries, etc..

Hi

I didn't realise until I started researching my family how 'common' the name Burrell is - can be a hindrance as well as a help!!

Hi Sassy

That is where I got the original info to enable me to send for copies of the wills. - worth the subscription.
