Could anyone please help me with information about ELLIS MARTIN born c.1820 in Overton.
I have this information from the 1851 English Census where he is working as a House servant in Bury, Lancashire.
I am not sure how large a town Overton was but any information on the MARTIN name in that town may prove helpful.
Thank you,
Jaybak

Have a look at the website namesfromclwyd. There is an Ellis listed. I don't have the transcripts. See the website www.clwydfhs.org.uk for list of transcripts and look up details.

Apologies it is the Marriages which go up to 1837. Baptisms and Burials to 1812 at the present time.

The population of Overton in 1831 was said to be 1746 according to the Genuki page for the Overton Parish in Flintshire.Ellis's father is given as William Martin according to the marriage to Martha Pilling given on Family Search.

Thank you very much for the prompt feedback. I thought his father was likely to be named William as that was the name of his first born son. The Clwyd Family History site also seems to be a promising resource.
Thanks again,
