I am currently researching George Bussey who married Mary Wheeler Sippell (1815-1904) before 1840 in or near Utica, NY.
Mary W. Bussey appears to have been widowed or estranged from George Bussey by 1850. She had two children Frances L. Bussey born about 1840 and William George Bussey born about 1846.
Frances L. Bussey married Samuel A. Field and lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
William George Bussey (1846-1904) was born in 1846 in Utica, NY. He went to school at Hamilton College and later Yale Law (1868). He married Grace Fletcher Trufant in 1875 in Lynn, Massachusetts.
The only bit of information I have for George Bussey is that he was purportedly a civil engineer (per William G. Bussey's obituary).

It's not much help, but according to a book found online, William George Bussey was the son of George A. Bussey, Civil Engineer.

According to another book, Mary W. Sippel married George O. Bussey. Mr. Bussey apparently died in 1846, in Lowell, Massachusetts.

I did not read the entire article...I am assuming this is your couple.

Worth following up (I should turn off the computer soon):
Benjamin Bussey was living in Western, Oneida, NY in 1840
Austin P Bussey, same as above.
Update: two graves in Westernville Cemetery
Austin P. Bussey, 1816-1889
Benjamin Bussey, June 4, 1791-June 8, 1869
-
December 21, 1889 (Rome, NY newspaper?)
Austin P. Bussey, 74 years old.
Born Alexandria, Genesee County.
Came to "this" town when 14 years of age.
Could this be a relative of George O. Bussey, or was he just someone who had the same last name. :-\

Hi Lisa - ;D I do know that phrase "I should turn the computer off now...".
Thank you for accompanying me on this nocturnal journey through online resources. I did not pick up the probate reference which you have provided.
George O. appears to have been the son of Dr. Benjamin Bussey (1791-1869) and "Frances" (abt 1792 to 1859). Benjamin, per census records, was born in Massachusetts and Frances was born in Vermont. Just what Mrs. Bussey's maiden name was is anybody's guess...for now.
There are a handful of genealogies that I have seen. Benjamin Bussey was purported to have been the son of Jesse and Nancy Morse Bussey. They had a large family and I believe Austin P. Bussey was their youngest child. Austin P. Bussey's wife was Sarah Halleck.
I had "known" from oral history that the Bussey family in Oneida County but have just started looking at the primary references for them. One "bit" of information that has always intrigued me is the claim that they are somehow related to a branch of the Bushnell family (of the Bushnell Turtle fame) that was based in Connecticut.
I have a feeling that I'll be picking at this for quite some time.
Thank you again for your kind and informative reply.

Hi again - Just looking at the US Census Records from 1830, etc. The Austin P. Bussey buried at Westernville Presbyterian you mentioned must have been a son of Benjamin Bussey. The breakdown of ages and sexes within Benjamin's household suggests agreement with the mention of Austin P arriving in that area when he was 14 years of age.
Austin P. Bussey appears as a householder in the 1840 Census records for Western, Oneida, NY.
There are two Austin Busseys listed in the 1850 census, one in NY and an older Austin (born 1808) living in Windsor, Massachusetts with Anna Bussey, age 91. I believe this would have been Nancy (Anna) Morse Bussey.
The Peter Bussey in Lowell in 1847 appears to have been an unrelated Bussey.

PS...doing the math...I'm not quite certain who Anna Bussey was in relation to Austin...digging...

In case you haven't seen it, George O. Bussey's death record is here: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N7KJ-VMR
On www.fultonhistory.com, there is an article in the Utica Herald Dispatch from 1903 about Mary, which mentions George's career and death.
