Title: Photo needs a date please COMPLETED
Post by: queenvic on Friday 14 September 12 15:11 BST (UK)
Can someone please put a date to the photo and the Minister.

The photo is stuck on black cardboard, and the readable writing on the back sais " Mr Harrison, Doals Minister, No 7 Plantation View, Burnley Road, Bacup".
I believe this is in Lancashire.

Thank you

Black surrounds were a popular style in the 1890s. If you could show a scan of the back it might be helpful.

Cheers,
China

Hello queenvic.

Plantation View is in Bacup Lancashire and is the row of houses next to Northern school Burnley Rd. You can google if you wish.

Hi

Could he be. . . . . ?

1901 "and onward" 6 Plantation View
RG13 1362 124 p37
Reubin Harrison 42 [Cotton ......]
Jane R 49
Harry 16

1891?
Was Plantation View then Street?
6 James Maden 46 [Overlooker]
7 Gorge Sheldon 38 [Overlooker]

Was the street owned by the cotton mill,
and "the overlookers" housed there?

"Doals" seems to be the name of an area farm just "north".
Doals/Doals Farm/New Doals Farm.
Is there a local "Chapel" that he could have been a "lay minister" or "started"?

Ray

Lancashire is a bit far off patch for a Hertfordshire chap.
Feeling a bit dizzy    ;D

My appollagies to not replying but i have been  away.

I have searched and the 1891 census  is the only place i could find anything. I found the neighbours, but the minister's house is empty.

Thank you all for your help.
