Title: baptism records
Post by: jansen on Tuesday 11 September 12 00:18 BST (UK)
I don't know if I am on the right forum but I am looking for someone to help how I can find anymore info on a baptism record I have found.
It is from the catholic records from St Albans RC Church Liverpool in 1859 but does'nt give any Parents names.
Can I find anymore info from the Records Office or will this be a dead end.
Thanks.
 Pat

Hi Pat,

Most if not all infant/child baptisms give parents names. If you have seen the original register then there will be no additional information at the records office.

What is the name of the person you are looking for?

Hi.
The name is Catherine Woods I wondered if she was born in the Workhouse and the Mother died.

Hi Pat,

I'd guessed that was the one you meant. ;)

You see on the side it says "gemini" - Latin for "twins". Her twin sister Ann was baptized at the same time, and the full details had been given in the previous entry. The clerk just didn't repeat all the info in the second baptism.

So Catherine's parents were Francis Woods and Jane (nee Casey).

Cheers,
Alexander

Hi Alexander
Thanks so much for that. I would never have looked on the other page.
That is now another dead end in trying to find my great grandmother.
Regards,
Pat
