looking for McKenzie/m'kenzie/mackenzie living in Cork or Blackrock about 1890's . My grandfather Thomas m' kenzie's father was living (as a servant I think) at Flower Lodge at the birth of his sons at this time.
I think this then became the sporting venue but would like to trace its earlier history as well to see if I can find staff records

take a look at the census 1901 ireland
www.censusnationalarchives.ie there are several mckenzies listed in Cork

thank you for that suggestion. I have found some of the family in 1901 and 1911 in the census actually living in Cork City.- isn't it a great resource- but I have a gap between the birth of one Thomas in 1867 and the next Thomas (b 1891.) I had wondered if flower lodge was still there as a house in 1901 but not really sure where to look for it

Flower lodge is now home to Pairc ui Rinn which is gaelic athletic association :)
