We cannot put up possible living people on here...

So this will be difficult.. and most searches would have to be done by p.m.

post at least twice more to be able to pm people...

I will have a look during the day to see if I can find anything.

but would need more details ...which you cannot put on here.  for instance dob   area  etc..

Hi

What country are you looking at? You have posted on Australia and if you are off to bed then it is likely Australia or New Zealand.

Hi

Check with your nearest Electoral Office I think you might be able to look up the whole of Australia, given it is an uncommon name there might only be a few people with that name.

Personal details of any people known or thought to be living will be removed, in accordance with RootsChat policy, to avoid spamming and other abuses. So people here will be able to give you general tips and hints how to proceed, but not any concrete details.

hi,

 this site
http://www.ryersonindex.org/

has an entry in respect to NEALON that may be your grandfather.

It is always possible that your your father may be deceased and if you nonw his first names it may be useful. As we cannot post possible living persons names you should check this site yourself  in case it is there.

Hi,
I don't know if someone has been helping you via the PM system but if you were to give us an approximate year of birth for your father and if you know what state he was born in, when his parents married. You are able to tell us that sort of information, just not what your Dad's name is.

I do not know your father's name or anything about him, but will post this for your possible interest.

In NSW there is not a marriage for CLARRIE (CLARENCE) NEALON to Margaret.

There is this-
REG 5510 IN 1913 NEALON, CLARENCE M
to PAYNE,    MILDRED
PENRITH

This may be the man whose death is on Ryerson -your attention has been drawn to it by REGROSS above.

This couple had children and up to 1918 they were-

NEALON-
FRANCES E 1913, Penrith REG 46174
CLARENCE S. 1915 Canterbury REG 30118
Daphne E  1918 Canterbury REG 27642

There is a ww2 summary for a man named CLARENCE SPENCER NEALON and it may be the son above.

Hi
There are two deaths on Ryerson, Clarence Michael Nealon who died in 1948 and his son Ivor Clarence Nealon who died in 1987. The mother Midred died in 1961.

Clarence Michael's death notice lists  five children.

Lisa Anne, if you get back to us and tell us if we are on the right track a lot of us have the resources to perhaps track down your Dad.

The WW2 service summary is in the name of Ivor Clarence Spencer NEALON
http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/Veteran.aspx?serviceId=A&veteranId=327060

The electoral rolls give his name as Ivor Clarence Spencer William NEALON.  He appears on the electoral roll from 1937.  If you would like the listings I will type them up.

On Trove newspapers there is reference to a Mrs Margaret Nealon of Guildford. evidently a good tennis player. there is also reference to a young Bob Nealon who raised money for a clothing drive for WW11 also in Guildford.

I could only find the marriage to Mildred also.

There is some confusion about the name of the OP's grandfather.  It is not Clarry.  I will continue to help Lisa by pm.  There is every possibility the grandparents could be living.

Cheers

Hi Lisa,
Cando is probably the best one to help you in this, I can see your father on the electoral roll in 1977 but not after that.
Possibly finding his parents deaths if they are deceased may give you a clue as to where he is.
The other possiblity is contacting people via Facebook, I see that there is a younger man on facebook who shares the same name as your father, the only information is that he graduated in 1979. Perhaps you already know each other, or I guess it is possible that your father had other family.
