Hi,
I would be very grateful if anybody who had access to Harrold Parish records could look for the death of an Ann Hensman between 1811 & 1816.
John Hensman bachelor of Harrold married Ann Osborn 11 Jun 1811 at Olney.
I believe they had at least one child, Osborn Hensman, who according to census material was born c1812/13 at Harrold.
I believe this Osborn was not baptised until 31st Jan 1819 at Harrold, alongside his[half] brother Joseph, their father John Hensman and John Hensman's sisters Sarah and Rebekah.
I believe John Hensman of Harrold had remarried 12 Nov 1816 to Ann Covington at Lavendon St Michael, as some of John's later children have the second name Covington.
In order to substantiate my belief that it was the same John Hensman who married both Anns, it would help to find a likely death for the first Ann, nee Osborn, between 1812 and 1816 in or near Harrold.
If anyone is able to confirm this I would be very grateful.

Hi Kucinta,
There are NO HENSMAN recorded burials at St Peter & All Saints, Harrold, Beds, between 1791 & 1826.

There's an Ann HEASMAN burial, age 49 at Harrold on 30 Jun 1846. But I can't see an Ann Hensman anywhere in Beds 1811-16

Thank you both for the replies, even though it's not what I wanted to hear...

Your hypothesis will be strengthened if the Lavendon marriage describes John as "widower of the parish of Harrold". The witnesses might also provide a clue.

John Hensman who married Ann Osborn is described as a bachelor of Harrold, Bedfordshire. Witnesses were George Allen and Elizabeth Cobb.
John Hensman who married Ann Covington is described simply as John Hensman 'of Harrold Bedfordshire' . Witnesses were Joseph Covington and Rebecca Covington.

I think you're on pretty safe ground
