First of all, can you confirm that all the chidren are deceased (as we are not allowed to post details of living people).
Ballinasloe is a town in Co. Galway. It is also the name of a Poor Law Union/Registration District there.
Are you sure of Andrew's birth year? born 1902 and married 1918 would have meant he was only about 16 years old when married.
Here's the family in 1911 census-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/Falls__Belfast_/Albert_Street/180263
Added- there's a birth registration for Andrew Dowds, son of William in 1901.
The online Irish civil registration index goes up to 1958 for the Republic of Ireland. *'s birth is listed (mother Connell) and it is Ballinasloe registration district.

Hi aghadowey
Yes that is andrews family in albert street and he was married very young. I can not confirm as to weahter the children are deceased or not and that is why i didnt put up all of the childrens names that i have.
The names of the children that i have are born in Ballinasloe to an andrew and mary dowds nee mc connell. It is interesting that billinasloe was a poor law union district and now knowing where it is both andrew and mary have moved about abit before they settled down.
Thank you for this information

Ballinasloe (http://www.ballinasloe.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/) is in east Co. Galway on the Co. Roscommon border
It is a large market town on the river suck which is a tributary of the Shannon

When I asked if the children were deceased I meant the ones you've listed in the first post.
The births are registered with mother's name as Connell in the index.

Hi, my son-in-laws GG grandfather was Andrew Dowds, on doing research I found he was married twice, first to Mary Ann McConnell and they had 1 daughter called Mary, and secondly to Miriam Cargo and they had 11 children, too many names to write here. I do have more family history, William Dowds who was married to Ellen McKimble (Kimble) was the father of William James Dowds married to Mary Mullan, Andrew was their last son. I'm also looking into what happened to Andrew Dowd, as he left his wife Miriam after the children were born and I'm told he moved to England with another lady. I can't find any record of him after that. The last son, Andrew, had 4 sons and 1 daughter (I think), my son-in-laws grandfather, William James who has died was one of these. I do know the names of the other children, I just have to check if they have died, I believe they have.
