Hi, I watch every episode I can of WDYTYA? even the ones from the states etc as generally they are very interesting from a genealogical and human interest point of view. However I can't wait till I watch Annie Lennox's episode as that will be the first from my main interest Aberdeenshire. Apart fae this quine, it would have to be Dennis Law to suit my area.
Which celeb would you pick to best suit the land area where most of your tree is from?

I would like to see Mick Jagger as he lived in the next road to my grandparents when he was a child. As most of my ancestors come from around Dartford area I'm sure I would find out a lot.

As most of my ancestors are from Co.Durham and I have the surname in my direct line it would have to be Bryan Ferry ;D
-
I don't think we have any celebs, past or present, where I live although Clare Balding's family are only a few miles away, and Sarah Ferguson was brought up in the area too.
-
Ozzy Osborne..lived a few streets away from me.

I grew up in Dartford...my parents still live there. Mick Jagger went to my brother's school, and my brother once had a dictionary with Mick's name in it....oh that we had known back then! ;D ::) :o

I hope that he eventually appears on it. If so it's lucky his ancestors didn't "move like Jagger" away from the area.
Sorry I'll get my coat. :-\

I lived in Bilston and was friends with Don Powells brother and used to go to his house, but that was many moons ago

Thing is, would their ancestors have been from this area?!
Chris Hoy would be the obvious choice for here (Edinburgh) - his parents and other relatives still live nearby. Gail Porter (tv presenter) went to Portobello High School so she might be interesting too. I think Ewan Bremner (Trainspotting actor) also grew up round here and Phil Cunningham (folk musician and composer) too.

I guess from my home town (Reading), it would have to be be Catherine Elizabeth Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge),Kate Winslet, Mike Oldfield, Chris Tarrant or Sam Mendes.
My favourite would probably be Chris Tarrant.
Another option would be Ricky Gervais - but I for one would have to turn off the telly >:(
-
Got to be Sir Nick Faldo,
Six major golf titles including Back to Back US Masters!!
-
The area where I now live has one claim to fame in recent history – the last death from bubonic plague in Britain happened here in 1910 :'(
Probably not quite what you had in mind, but I can’t think of any famous people from East Suffolk – feeling quite deprived now :(

Sandie Shaw was born where I live , they've done Richard Madeley who was born in the area ,
-
Carol, my OH comes from Suffolk and would suggest Bernie Ecclestone who was born in Bungay.
I would like to see Bob Mortimer & Chris Rea on WDYTYA representing Cleveland.
-
Sir Sean Connery, 007
Apparently my maternal Great-Grandparents resided in the same tenement in Fountainbridge.
Regards
Ron

I would have to choose olympian Nick Skelton as he comes from my home town of Bedworth or Pete Waterman as he's from Coventry.
-
Just picking this one up now.
It might be nice if Liam Neeson did WDYTYA - I remember chasing up a family rumour that our families might be linked in some way. So I went through a whole load of Neeson births in Ballymena when I was having a day in the GRO in Belfast.
I found Liam registered as William John Neeson (b. 7 June 1952) but no truth in the rumour.
It would be neat to see where his pedigree leads round Co. Antrim and beyond.
