Hello
I wonder if anyone could help me here. I recently found an Andrews Index card on Ancestry relating to a relative of mine. It was an article published in October 1964 asking for any relatives to come forward regarding Charles James Baugh who died in Catford as there may be "something beneficial to them"! Im just curious as to what that might have been. What would be the best way to find out? It had the name of a solicitors to contact which unfortunately are no longer there (given that it is over 40 years ago). Would it be a good idea to apply to see if the Probate Registry have a Will for him?
Any hints of where I should go next would be great.
Thank you in advance

Hi
Ancestry have The National Probate Index up to 1966. Given the article was published in 1964 it is far more likely he died intestate with no known close relatives. It is more likely the solicitors were seeking anyone with claims on his personal estate.

Hi there,
No will for him but the same year it seems his mother Elizabeth may have died intestate
Elizabeth Caroline Baugh widow died 19.4.1964 admin Leonard Ernest Baugh grocer.
Your relative seem to be already dead if he's the one born in 1906.
