Youngest son of Gilbert Laurenson and Catherine Omand - have been unable to find any other info on this man - hoping he is on someone elses tree??

hi, there a few trees on another site with that family but no info on william mouat except his birth date and place     about 1816 bressay shetland

so i had a look on the I G I
Nearest match william laurenson 1817 bressay shetland  married a barbara tait 1847 bressay. maybe a possible?

Thanks for that, keep forgetting about IGI when it's Scotland. Sounds good possible, and I'll see where I can go from there.

Unfortunately, the William Laurenson who marries Barbara Tait, died in 1893 at Kirkabister, Bresay, - parents James L aurenson and Margaret Begg.

Just a long shot.

I notice that his older sister and one of her daughters died in Ballarat, Victoria, AUS.  Also, that her husband died in Bressay in 1837.  Perhaps she left then with all her five children.

Did he go across with them?

Just another wall with coloured bricks!!
