On the street directories on the PRONI website I found a Belfast listing for 1870 which shows a man named Robert Maxwell, working as a blacksmith, at 6 Haldane Street. (There is also an Eliza Maxwell living at number 4 - maybe a relation?)
Just wondering if anyone is researching this family and who might have any information on this Robert Maxwell (or Eliza) or any family connections. I'm especially interested in parents or siblings as I am researching Maxwells in this specific area of Belfast very close to this time period, but any kind of details would be gratefully received if you can help.
Thanks,
Alan

I have a Maxwell of my family being born in one of the very same houses just a couple of years earlier and thought a connection seems likely - determined to find something, as this particular line is one of the most frustrating brick walls in my tree!
Thanks both of you for your input and taking the time to look into it.
