Trying to pinpoint 'Llanbais'. Goes to 'Llanberis' when I Google it, but gives two alternatives - one on Genes Reunited, which gives a guys birthplace as Llanbais' and his location in 1851 as Llanlechidd, the other, in an 1850 publication, which gives Capel Citrig, Llanbais, Llanberis. Anyone know where exactly Llanbais is.

Hi there, I'm no expert but I would imagine that Llanlechidd should be Llanllechid (near Bethesda) and Capel Citrig sounds very much like Capel Curig to me! As for Llanbais...I'm not sure! Where did you find the information? If you have found the information on a census return then, I would imagine they are just spelling mistakes and I would therefore assume that Llanbais is Llanberis.
I'm sure a lot would disagree with assuming...but that's just me!

Incidentally...all three places, Llanllechid, Capel Curig and Llanberis are not far from each other, as the crow flies...

I totally agree with Arwel !!
Try saying Llanbais with a stuffed accent ;D ;D
Capel Curig is my soul place.. I feel at peace there and always have done.

Thanks, guys.
