My father's step grandfather Joseph Edward Henrys was a well known handicapper in the early 1900's in NZ His son John Lewis Henrys was also well known as a football player and also a handicapper. There are many mentions of the family in papers past but I have only come across 1 image of Joe Henrys.
I am sure that for such a notable family there must be a stash of photos somewhere. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. I have tried many photographic collections. Pperhaps i am just not using the correct seach technique??

Another place to look would be library catalogues for history of racing/racing clubs
that may have photos of race days etc

What about trying NZ Racing? They have biographies on some of the jockeys so may have others too.

It may be worth contacting the Addington Raceway

:) Hi and thank you people.
Althea the Papers past photo is the only one I have already managed to obtain. I will continue to search through the topics I can think of. New Zealand Museum may have some and Early Canterbury photogrpers as well if I can put in the correct search terms.
thanks again
Marcii
