A marriage cert from the GRO for Amelia and Thomas should give you a few more details to help your search - e.g. father's names and occupations etc...

Based on the details you gave there's a likely match for the marriage on the BMD Index on FamilySearch as follows :

  Name: Amelia Weatherly
  Registration district:    Kilkenny
  Event type: Marriage
  Year: 1864
  Volume: 13 / Page: 403

A Thomas M'Kenzie appears with the same references, so a possible cross-match.

Thanks - that is indeed the marriage . I had seen the information on roots ireland but fathers names were not given-- I clearly need to get the original civil certificate

Many of the records on RootsIreland are transcripts of parish records - which may not show as much detail as a civil cert. Given the option I would generally go for a civil cert..
