My great, great grandparents, George H Rose and Marion Rose emigrated to USA in 1883. My great great grandmother returned to England with the two children in the early 1890's. The family never knew what happened to George who remained in the states. I have found George on several US census returns up to 1920 but have never managed to trace his birth record in England or death records in USA.
I have recently found that there is a grave stone in Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso, Shiawassee, Michigan which is for a George H Rose 1856 - 1927. I believe this is the grave of my great, great grandfather.
Can anyone tell me the best way to try and obtain a death certificate? The stone does not give the exact date of death only the year. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Is this the George H Rose you refer to
1900 Census - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M9B2-34S
1910 Census - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MLTQ-CCQ
1920 Census - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MZ76-DYG
IF this is the one you were looking at - George married Ida Amspoker in Owosso, Shiawassee, Michigan 24 November 1888.
Grooms father was James Rose and Mother Lydia Minton.

This marriage would be prior to the early 1890's when you say Marion returned to the UK with the 2 children ???

Checking through UK BMD there is a Marion C Rose marries Henry Stiles December 1895 at Keynsham (5c1195) - do you have that marriage certificate ??? Just wondered if it would have given Marions marital status and whether she was divorced, widowed ???
