I am trying to trace what happened to my relative Lucy Goodacre b 1809 Sawston, Cambridgeshire.
I have been able to trace her upto the 1841 census but then she disappears. I have been unable to locate any marriage or death records from 1841 onwards but have found an entry on the 1861 census records at Fulborn hospital.
The entry is entered as LG and dob 1923 b lawston(which I believe should be Sawaston as the 'S' has been misread as an 'L'). Again there is a entry on the 1871 census listed as LG dob 1923 this time birth place is Man Yeniden ( again beleive this should be Manuden which is also the area Lucy was born in and registered on her brothers birth cert). Although the date of birth is incorrect I do feel this could be her.
I would be grateful if any one has access to the hostpital admission records as would be interested to know why she was there! Also if any death records are held for the hospital as she no longer appears after the 1871 census.
Apprieciate any help that could be given.
Thank you

Hi
Have you looked on www.freebmd.org.uk to see if there is a suitable death in that area? Sawston and Manuden are not that close. In different counties too.

Hi,
Only death I can find is for a Lucy Goodacre in Mar 1878 in Chesterton aged 57 which would put dob around 1821.
Sorry Lucy was born in Manuden but Sawston is where her mother (Hannah Goodacre) was living in 1851. With brother and family nearby. Hannah died in 1851 which leads me to wonder if this led to Lucy going into the ayslum as had no one to care for her.
