Title: Buchanhaven
Post by: ZanT on Monday 27 August 12 14:29 BST (UK)
Is there anyone out there with pictures of Buchanhaven? Around the late 1940s to early 1950s?
I am trying to establish what happened, if anything to 39 High street.
(The best answer to this will be rewarded..... In heaven!!!)

Valuation rolls might solve your problem - they'll have lists of the properties, and as they were produced annually they'll show any changes which took place.  Contact Aberdeen City & Aberdeenshire Archives for more info on the valuation rolls.  Their webpage, which includes their contact details, is www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/archives

Hi,

I don't know if you are on Facebook, but there is a page called "Peterhead When You Were A Kid". It has loads of photos of Peterhead from through the years. I'm not sure if you have to be invited on, or if you can just join the page, but there is lots of photos of Buchanhaven. I'm sure someone on there will be able to tell you whats happened to Number 39 High St.

Anne
