Henry Edward EVELEIGH b. c1888 Riverton, NZL and Jessie nee ASHLEY b, c1888 Geelong, VIC, AUS

m. 1914 Invercargill, NZL

known issue so far:
1. Henry EVELEIGH b. 1915 Dunedin NZL, d. 1989 NZL

Does anyone know of further children they may have had?

Christchurch Archives holds a 1978 probate file for a Jessie EVELEIGH. If it is your Jessie the file may mention children or grand children.

Possibly corresponds to the 1978 listing for a Jessie EVELEIGH on the Christchurch Cemetery website.

The cemetery website mentions that the deceased was born in Geelong, Victoria. However the age is given as 78 years which I think is an error. Both the BDM NZ website and the NZSG Burial Locator CD give the age at death as 89 years.

I have a newspaper death notice for George Leonard EVELEIGH died 1985 and buried at Karori.
I think I have the relationships 'sussed' but will PM you the details as there are a number of people mentioned, still living.

The marriage of James and Mary Ann suggests Mary Ann had been married previously

Henry and Jessie definitely had 2 daughters - May Olive Rice  and Joan ? Dick, I think there were other siblings.
