Can anyone out there look up John William Mewburn's birth in Wittlesea, his parents if possible, anything at all about him or his family. In 1841 census he is living in Peterborough. Particularly interested in who his parents are and where they came from.
Thank you

Rosie, Trish and Selina,
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I had not thought of a Will, so a great suggestion that I will follow up.
It is exciting to know of a Thomas and Jane Mewburn in Whittlesey with a child of approx correct age to 'my' John William Mewburn.
All suggestions are much appreciated.

John William Mewburn was born 02 Jul 1786 at Whittlesea (the family clusters around Peterborough for some time) the son of Thomas (1754-1795) and Jane ().
He became a wine and spirit merchant and married Margaret Mardshall in 1811. They had five children.
I happen to be a Mewburn enthusiast (odd notion) and wonder what your interest in the family is?

Hello Mewburn Enthusiast
My connection is that the name Mewburn is a family name that started with Simon Mewburn and Mary Tulip of Acomb, Northumberland and was passed on through one of his sons.

Ah, I'm just being slow on the uptake and hadn't checked your ID. This is Ian.
