Shane Ive started to look through my fathers ancestors the FORANS. The Dublin Census has been a great help its just ive at the moment ive followed the wrong marriage of my Gt grandfather John Foran i had him married to Mary harman from the family search search records when it is Mary Irwin address 30 Sherrad Ave thats the address on my grandfathers marriage cert to Mary Branigan. The 1901 Census gives the above address but ive noticed that there was a Charles Foran age 13 with his mother been in her 60s she was an older mother it looks like. Shane could you look on the Thoms Dublin directory after 1901 to see maybe how long the the family lived in that house . Thank you Franflynn

I think that should be Sherrard Avenue.... unfortunatly like a number of minor streets without businesses, Thom's 1904 doesn't include a detailed listing, just the following :
Sherrard Avenue
off Sherrard street Lwr
40 small houses
same details appear in 1906.
The house numbers appear to be consistent on the 1911 and 1901 returns as some of the same families appear at the same addresses (e.g. O'Shaughnessy, Levery), and by 1911 the occupant of No. 30 is an Anthony Duke.

i know its been awhile since this was posted but have you followed up this marriage .this man was witness at john forans wedding. arthur james kavanagh to elizabeth branigan st marys pro cath 22 jan 1899. on john forans marriage it says that his wifes parents are dead yet the mother is still alive in 1901 with arthur kavanagh at 7 belvedere place mother in law charlotte rattigan[buried glasnevin age 70 1906] arthur is at 7 ross road in 1911.you should find the two censuses very interesting as to where some of them were born.i could not find a marriage for charlotte branigan/rattigan nor a death for joseph brannigan possibly died in england as some of the children born there. sorry i dont know how to make the links to the census.
