I am looking for any records of Alexander Inglis Horn (b. 1811 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland) and Esabilla Hislop (b. 1811 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland) who lived in Midlothian from around the 1830s. They had a son William Hislop Horn (b. approx 1833) who is my 2nd great grandfather. On William's Australian marriage certifcate in 1868 he stated his father, Alexander Inglis Horn, was a shoemaker.
I would be interested in records in respect to birth, baptism, marriage, death, parents names, other children of Alexander Inglis Horn and Esabilla Hislop.
Thanks!

Hi
Have a look on FreeCen.org.uk
You will find Alexander and family living in Hard Well Close, Edinburgh, in 1841.

Hello Mark
According to www.familysearch.org.uk he was born on 03 Dec 1832.
I'd also a look at the official govt website at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk (PPV although free to register), and it has 2 children born to a couple with those surnames - I'm currently out of credits for the site.
Regards, Steve

This ad appeared in the papers for about a month:

Missing Friends.
EDINBURGH.— Alexander Horn and family, from Edinburgh, who arrived in Sydney in 1851,— your brother David's daughter, Jessie, is in Sydney, and anxious to hear from you. Address, Mr. Dickson, London Chartered Bank, Sydney. Any information respecting them will be gratefully received. 1 8108
I don't know if they contacted Jessie, who remained in NSW and married Robert Kirkpatrick in 1863.
I haven't found deaths for either Alexander or his wife, but when daughter Bennet married in 1865 Alexander was no longer alive. Bennet died in 1906 and her brother William in 1908.

Further to my previous post, obviously Jessie Stuart HORN (who married Robert KIRKPATRICK) made contact with her relatives in Victoria, as William Hislop HORN named a daughter Jessie Kirkpatrick HORN. I have still unable to find a death for Alexander Inglis HORN.
