Title: Carre Family
Post by: Genealogy Nut on Saturday 11 August 12 23:56 BST (UK)
I have Emilie Marie Carre in my family.  Her father was Helier Carre, she married Henry Lemon Michael and Ernest Peter Dodd.  I need any info I can get about her family in Guernsey.

Thanks

Have you tried Familysearch.org

There seems to be a lot of information on the Carre family there. Including this one below

Good Luck

Hi
I do have Carre in my Family Tree but a little more info would be helpful as 'Helier' was a name passed through generations
Are we talking Helier Carre 1811 of Catel, a shoemaker?
Emilie born 1860
Lived at St Mary de Castro in Catel

Must be because Helier is still alive in 1891 and Emilie M  is shown as wife of Ernest Dodd, living with Helier. Ernest born in Forest 1862 and shown as a plasterer.
Florence A Michel is shown as their daughter aged 7.
Still at Landes, St Mary de Castro

I think, but not confirmed, that Helier is a son of Jean Carre (1786-1855) and Mary Torode (1788-1865). They married 10 May 1810.
Jean was a son of Jean Carre (1764-?) and Margaret Ozanne (1765-1814). They married 11 Jul 1786 at Catel.

As I say not 100% but I think this is the family you're looking for
Regards
Tony E

Thank you - Yes that is my Carr family - in the event that Florence is listed in your family - Peter Dodd is not her biological father - the father's name is Henry Lemon Michael.  Now he leads us in a completely new area.

Thanks for the help!
