Could someone assist, please. I would like to obtain the passenger list for the ship Atkins, which I am led to believe, arrived in Melbourne 2 August, 1853, from Liverpool, England.
Thank you.

Col,
Would you give us the name of the person/people of interest you believe were on board. It may help to find the list.

Sue, thank you for the quick reply. The only person I am looking for is William Collins, born c.1812, Surrey, England.
Peter.

Possibly your man:
William COLLINS, 40
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1813
Arrived, 2 Aug 1853, into Melbourne, Australia, from Liverpool
Ship: Atkins
Nationality: English
This is on a list which shows assisted and unassisted passengers. I cannot find him on PROV though - they have just changed their website so it might be that I am not negotiating it properly! ::)

Well done Judith,
I had not been able to locate a ship of the name at all and was beginning to wonder...... ::)
Are you easily able to see more than the one passenger on that ship?
I gather Peter is looking for list.

PROV unassisted list has William Collins, 40 years, arriving Aug 1853 aboard Albinus Fiche 45 Page 002.

Thanks, Warncoort - good find. Another mistranscription ???
According to TROVE the ship is the Albinus which arrived Melbourne around 3 August from Liverpool with 229 passengers. I don't see a ship Atkins in Melbourne at that time

I note a death in Victoria which may be this chap but ColTree may already have this info

Death Place: Victoria
Age: 45
Father's Name: Unknown
Sue, ColTree says he is only looking for the one person.

A big thank you to everyone who assisted me with my search, I'll try to see if any of it is relative to my Family History.
