Title: Surnames of Cappaquinn,Waterford
Post by: Geoff on Thursday 01 July 04 02:18 BST (UK)
:) Any body have an interest in the following names.

Thomas MOORE and his wife Catherine FENNESSEY.

They had two daughters that I know of, Johanna b c 1833 & Catherine {Kate} b c 1836.

Both girls sailed to Australia in 1854.

Cheers

Hi Geoff

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Ticker

Hi Ticker,

I have to reply in the negative, all of my Irish lines have been a real pain.
It's got that way, that I have stepped back from doing any Irish research for a while.

On my Waterford connections it would seem the leprechaun's had infected my gg grandmother's mind when she gave information to the authorities.
She never seemed to give the same answers to any given question.
This just makes things harder.

One of these days I'll crack the code and it will all come tumbling out.

Cheers
Geoff

Hi Geoff!
No info I'm afraid, just had to laugh at your frustration coming through. My Irish rellies must have had the same mental gymnastics ingrained in them!!
Who can blame them considering the history?
                Cheers,Goggy.

Hi Goggy,

That frustration still lingers, it's getting harder to do & harder to smile through it.
I've just discovered another Irish link with the surname HENRY.

Can you imagine how many responses I get when I do a search for the HENRY'S.

Cheers
Geoff

Hi Geoff, the only cure for too many 'leads' is to stick with the main branch,or male lines only.Hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs here, but having too many offshoots can hide the trunk!
My dilemma is in refusing to be sidetracked, then spending time in wondering, just wondering!!!
               Cheers,Goggy.

Cappoquin, Co. Waterford:

Waterford Heritage Survey has computerised parish registers for the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore; for a fee (£30) they will carry out a search for you.

Good luck.
