William Collins b 1874 Essex. On his Marriage cert 1900 in Guildford Surrey it states his occupation as Army Pensioner.
Anyone out there know if i can find his Army Record details.

Yes he did marry Alice Blighton.
Unsure whether Father was Charles William and Mother Elizabeth Partner . You mention a father Thomas havent come across him.
Any information would be great to narrow it down.

How do you know he was born Essex,and doesnt his fathers name and occupation appear on the marriage cert? There are army pension records of familysearch and on Findmypast

The one born Colchester was a shoemaker by trade born St Botolph,Colchester joined Essex regiment at Warley 12 Mar 1890 -10 2 1893

the one with father Thomas who I asked about was married in 1896 so isnt your man.

basically that,s all there is he,s joined up then bought himself out for £18
his father william lived in vineyard street which is in st botolphs parish and just up the rd from the church .
as an aside when i was a boy i,ve walked that st many a time going home from the town all the houses were knocked down way back in the 60,s it,s all car park now .

ps the record is part of online army pension records if you would like a copy you can buy credits so you can download it . but as you see there,s not a lot on it .

this is confusing.
William (11 years in 1881) who lived in Vineyard Street has a father William who is a Painter in 1881 and later.
There is a William (6 yrs in 1881) born White Notley with a father Charles William, Flour Carter. Charles W is a labourer in 1891 and young William is a Groom. :-\

Will have to do some more checking, Had thought William 6 years in 1881 with Father Charles William was my man.
Then t mo 's military info fits with the William 11 years in 1881 with Father William
His Marriage 1900 states Army Pensioner as occupation
In which case perhaps there is another William in records b c 1875
Will sleep on it for now.
